5 Healthy Daily Habits To Improve Your Life

Drink lemon water daily 

Every morning before you eat or drink anything, have lemon water. Lemon water is great for hydration, improves the condition of your skin, aids digestion, has been linked to weight loss and is a great source of vitamin C. 

To prepare your lemon water, cut a lemon in half and squeeze the juice out of each half into a glass. Top up the glass with fresh filtered water and enjoy. You can use hot or cold water depending on your mood. 

It’s advisable to use a reusable straw to drink your lemon water as the acidity of the lemon can contribute to tooth enamel erosion. By drinking through a straw it forces the liquid to the back of your mouth meaning less time in contact with your teeth.

Meditate 

Having a daily meditation practice can change your life. If you’re new to meditation, start with 10 minutes a day and work up to longer periods of time. There are lots of different types of meditations including silent meditation, guided meditation, transcendental meditation and movement meditation. Try out a variety of different types until you find ones that suit you and your lifestyle.

Move your body 

Movement is an underestimated and underutilised form of daily exercise and stress reliever. Try to have a daily walk outside in the fresh air for a minimum of 20 minutes per day. If you can’t get outside then stick on some music at home and move your body to the beat. Dancing is a great way to release any trapped or stagnant energy in your body.

Dancing has also been linked to helping with anxiety and depression. We were never designed to be stuck at a desk all day so make sure you move your body everyday.

  
Our hips are particularly prevalent for storing stress. Neuroscientists have suggested that we store all of our emotions in our hips. If you’re feeling particularly stressed or anxious, perform some hip stretching exercises to loosen and release any stuck emotions.

Practise gratitude 

Start a daily gratitude practice to help you appreciate all that you have as well as manifest anything your desire. You cannot and will not manifest your dream life if you don’t feel gratitude first. Everyday write down a minimum of 3 things that you’re thankful for. It could be something as simple as a nice meal you ate or a cuddle you had with your pet. No matter how bad your day has been you should be able to find something to be thankful for, perhaps the air you breathe for example? 

You may wish to do your gratitude diary in the morning just after you wake up or at night just before you go to bed. Choose a time that suits you but just remember to do it daily. 

Eat foods that make your body feel good

There is no one set diet that everyone should be following as we’re all different but it’s important to eat foods that make your body feel good. A healthy gut and microbiome is incredibly important for your health and wellbeing. 

Start to see food as fuel for your body. It enables you to be the best version of yourself you can be. When we’re healthier we can achieve so much more in life.
